Branch Visit to Bull Island: 2
Common Crane flew north to south over us on the causeway
after 12 noon. Also seen from the causeway were Grey Plover, Greenshank, Redshank, Brent
Geese - several ringed, Dunlin, Shelduck, Pintail,
Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit,- several ringed, Teal,
Curlew, Wigeon, Little Egret, Grey Heron
and Rock Pipit.
Over at the Wooden Bridge: large flock of Knot with
Golden Plover amongst them
and Bar-tailed Godwit. TC

Bull Island: Spotted near Causeway - Shoveler
(group of 8 male and female, feeding in shallow water).
Large numbers of Brent Geese, Shelduck,
Redshank. Black-tailed Godwit, and 1 Curlew
managing to blend into the background of dried grass.
Spotted on Strand: Sanderling, Turnstone,
Common Gull and 1 Hooded Crow feeding on shellfish.TC

Common
Crane flew in from the north together at 13:30 and
then headed westward in the direction of the Esso Station at
Blake's Cross. Also a female type Merlin
beside the north hide.AR
Blessington Street Basin: 1 Hooded Merganser - the bird has been in the Basin for a couple of weeks.
There were also the resident Coots, Water Hens, Tufted Ducks,
Wood Ducks, Mute Swans, Black-headed Gulls
and Herring Gulls.FC
